Surge: 5th & 6th Grade

Sundays during both services at 9:20am at 10:50am.

As 5th and 6th grade students embrace a time of transition and growth, Surge provides a place of belonging, faith and identification. The program has been designed specifically for preteens in order that their faith is encouraged and made real to them, and their commitment to Jesus is strengthened. Surge seeks to see students:

Surge ahead in faith in Jesus &
Surge ahead in service to the body and community.

Each Sunday morning Surge helps kids grapple with topics of faith, relationships and choices as they begin to own their relationship with God. Surge also provides many opportunities to participate in service projects, socials, and outreach events.

2010 Surge Retreat

April 23rd -24th

All 5th and 6th graders are invited to the 2010 Surge Spring Retreat! Please consider joining the group for 24 hours of fun and growth including ultimate frisbee, board games, basketball, pizza, friends and more!

Teaching topics include: Communion  |  Baptism  |  How big is God?

Cost: $50.00

Location: Eden Wood Center, Eden Prairie

Registration: To register please visit the Tiki Hut in the Surge Room and pick up a registration packet

* Four parents (2 women and 2 men) are needed to attend the retreat at no cost. Drivers are also needed on Friday night and again on Saturday afternoon. If you are available for either of these opportunties please contact Mark Neubauer (information below).

 

Abbreviated schedule:

Friday, April 23rd 

  • 5:00pm - Meet at church, leave for retreat by 5:15pm
  • Evening includes: pizza, ultimate frisbee, board games, and lessons on Communion and How big is God?
  • 12:00am - Lights out

April 24th

  • 9:00am and earlier - Breakfast
  • Morning includes: lesson on Baptism, double ball basketball, board games, and free time
  • 12:00pm - Lunch
  • 12:30pm - Lesson on How big is God?
  • 2:00pm - Clean-up / pack-up
  • 3:00pm - Arrive at church for parents to pick up
